George who?

Some conspiracies are true, did you know that King George V was executed by his doctor in 1936, amazing.

I suppose if the facts come out 70 years later nobody cares any more...may be Tony Gosling was right and in 2071, it will be revealed that George Bush personally fired the rockets at the twin towers and got an actor to stand in for him on CNN. Everybody will just go 'George who?'

(I am not by the way supporting Tony's barmy anti-semitism and homophobia)

Spooky....who would believe that a member of the Royal Family, a Monarch was killed by his Doctor, may be they all get killed by Doctors, may be this is why Prince Charles rejects conventional medicine...nobody has been killed yet by homeopathy.


A significant historical medical case is that of the King of England, George V, who died in January 1936. It emerged 50 years later -- in official papers released only in 1986 -- that King George had been directly killed by his physician, Lord Dawson of Penn.

The reason was deplorable. Dawson wanted to be able to announce the King's death in 'The Times' of London -- a "respectable" morning newspaper. He did not want it to occur at a moment when a more popular evening paper might get hold of the story. So he took control.

King George had a serious heart condition, but he was not terminally ill. Bertrand Dawson -- a friend and supporter of Marie Stopes and an advocate of euthanasia -- decided that the King would now be better off dead.

He prepared a lethal cocktail to inject into George's jugular vein and asked the nurse to administer it.

The unnamed nurse refused. She said she was a Christian and did not enter medicine to kill off patients. So, Lord Dawson did the job himself, and it took effect. The King passed away peacefully and 'The Times' duly announced George's death, the following morning, as planned.

The BBC was also given a hint of developments, and was able to make a reliable announcement, late in the evening, that: "The King's life is drawing peacefully to a close." Very handy for the broadcast media too!

May be Richard II was killed by his barber surgeon...may be the Princes in the Tower were topped by their dentist, maybe William II was escaping from his psycho Doctor who was about to over enthusiastically 'lance his boil', when the GP receptionist plugged him with an arrrow.

Some conspiracies are true, some history is false....official government documents are usually kept under wraps in the UK until nobody cares.

Israeli arms factory smashed in Brighton

ITT/EDO MBM arms factory in Moulescombe, Brighton which supplies Israel has been wrecked by activists campaigning against war.

Swords into waste skips at least.



Prior to entering the factory, the activists made a video (attached) in which they explained their reasons for the action. One commented: "Israel are committing a gross crime now in Gaza. Israel have killed hundreds of children. I think its absolutely disgusting that weapons made in our cities and in our country are being used to kill innocent women and children. They have been used indiscriminately. If the law and the police cant do anything about it its about time somebody else did."

About 30 police are believed to have attended the factory, where they witnessed computers and office equipment being thrown out of first floor windows. Nine people are believed to have been arrested and taken to the Hollingbury and Worthing Police Stations, where police say they are being held on 'suspicion of burglary'. One protestor is believed to have required hospital treatment.

There will be a demonstration outside UAV Engines, of Lichfield, Staffordshire, on Monday 19th January, regarding evidence that has been revealed that the company is building engines that are used in Israel's military drones that are aiding the attacks on Gaza.


UAV engines (known as UEL) is owned by the Israel drone specialists Silver Arrow, a subsidary of the Israeli defence contractor Elbit systems. One of its rotary Wankel engines is used in Elbit's Hermes 450 drone. A version of the 450 makes up a squadron of the Israeli air force and has been seen over Gaza in the current conflict, being used for surveillance and targeting for Israel's F-16 strike fighters. Elbit's own website suggests that the Lichfield factory produces engines for the Hermes.

The demonstration will be calling for an end to arms sales to Israel and an end to Israeli violent repression of the Palestinian people.

The factory is situated on Lynn Lane, Shenstone, Lichfield, WS140DT (Tel: 01543 481 819).

The demonstration will be held outside the industrial unit at midday. Meet at Shenstone Railway Station at 11.15 a.m. The factory is approximately 11 minutes walk from the station along Lynn Lane, heading out of town (take the first left after Birch Brook lane).

The Biased Broadcasting Company say ceasefire, not a second too soon, the crimes committed have been horrendous...my fear is that the ceasefire will lead to a stronger stranglehold on Gaza, squeezing ordinary people.

Ah well at least it has put the governing Israeli Party's poll ratings up, murder as they say is the sport of the elected.

Lasantha Wickrematunge, 50, was killed last Friday as he went to work at his newspaper The Sunday Leader,he believed the government would kill him so wrote his own obituary.

Arab Media Watch report demonstrates UK press favouritism

The London-based press watchdog, Arab Media Watch (AMW), has produced research demonstrating that British press reporting of the Middle East conflict has massively
favoured the Israeli Ambassador to the almost complete exclusion of the Palestinian Ambassador.

A statement released by Arab Media Watch "expresses concern at the frequent use by the British press of Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor, compared with the near-total absence of his Palestinian counterpart Manuel Hassassian."

AMW's claim of bias is supported by London-based human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell:

"This research shows that the Israeli Ambassador has received 2,000% more UK national press coverage than his Palestinian opposite number, Ambassador Hassassian. Such bias does not give the British people a balanced perspective on the Israel-Palestine conflict and the tragic events in the Palestinian territories.

"The non-reportage of Mr Hassassian is particularly regrettable because he is a voice of Palestinian moderation, peace and constructive dialogue. By denying him coverage, the press is handing a propaganda victory to Israel and Hamas and allowing the hawks on both sides to dominate the public debate," said Mr Tatchell.

According to AMW's survey, from the time that Mr Prosor became Israeli Ambassador to the UK at the end of 2007 until the end of 2008, there have been 40 items (news articles, commentaries, editorials and letters) either by him, quoting him or mentioning him in British national newspapers.

In contrast, during the same period, Ambassador Hassassian has been mentioned only twice in the UK national press - both times in the Guardian, quoted in two articles by Middle East editor Ian Black. This is 20 times fewer mentions than Mr Prosor.

"For the sake of balance, this should be rectified, particularly given the importance of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the frequency with which it is reported, and the regular use of Prosor," said AMW chairman Sharif Hikmat Nashashibi.

"Our findings call into question Prosor's complaint in the Telegraph that 'coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is routinely tainted with bias' against his country. Prosor's views are clearly and overwhelmingly more prevalent than his Palestinian counterpart."

Nashashibi added:

"Hassassian is an able and eloquent spokesman who is readily available to the media. Making use of him would contribute to a sense of even-handedness in British press coverage, which would benefit readers."

AMW expresses particular concern over the coverage by the Telegraph, not just because of the frequent platform it provides Mr Prosor, but because AMW has been writing to the newspaper since July 2008 requesting an explanation for the total absence of Hassassian in its pages. We have yet to receive a reply, though we have been promised one three times.

Mark Ereira-Guyer, long standing St Edmundsbury councillor and current leader of the Labour group, has resigned from the Labour Party in dismay at the Government decision to give the go-ahead to another runway at Heathrow, and has applied to join the Green Party.

Mark said

" The vast environmental changes wrought by humanity now threaten us in a most profound way, and the Government's decision to go-ahead with a third runway at Heathrow does nothing to protect us all from the catastrophic impact of climate change and environmental degradation. Alongside their support for expansion at Stansted this is just too much to bear. I am committed to working towards a better world and I want to see the UK government provide firm global leadership in combating climate change.

Not doing so today has meant, with a heavy heart and great sadness and after 27 years of Labour Party membership, I have been compelled to hand in my Party membership. I believe that the Party has completely lost its connection with its membership and simply refuses to listen to those it should do.

I look forward to continuing to represent the interests of the local community I represent on St Edmundsbury Borough Council as an active and energetic exponent of environmental issues and social justice in Suffolk, the region and globally as a member of Suffolk's Green Party team. "

Cllr Ereira-Guyer served as a St Edmundsbury councillor from 1995 to 2003 and again since May 2007 as representative of the St Olave's ward. In the earlier period he held several prominent positions in the controlling Labour Group as Deputy Leader, Cabinet Member for Culture and Chair of the Transport & Public Works Committee. In 1997 and 2001 Mark contested Bury St Edmunds for Labour in the General Elections; running a close second to the Conservatives.
