With rail fares set to rise 40%, a latterday Jimmy Somerville would have to cycle, buy a coach ticket or walk briskly, history in some ways is going backwards.
The 1980s saw Mrs Thatcher launch her assault on LGBT rights.
We certainly need some more musical assaults on rising homophobia today, watch this space.
Soft Cell remain my fav 1980s gay band.
