This is from the no one will vote Lib Dem at the next General Election Facebook group.
Due to the sad and untimely death of Labour Councillor Jan Wilson a by-election was held for the Manor Castle Ward.
Jan won the ward at the May 2010 election, which makes these figures even more astounding, and damning for the Liberals considering this change is only based on 5 months of this coalition government. This is supposed to be their 'honeymoon' period!
May 2010 Election
LD - 1552 25.5%
Con - 438 7.19%
BNP - 465 7.64%
Lab - 3371 55.38%
Grn - 260 4.27%
October 21 2010
LD - 303 10.97% ( - 14.53%)
Con - 142 5.14% ( + 2.05%)
Lab - 2092 75.76% ( + 20.38%)
Grn - 224 8.11% ( + 3.84% )
So as we can see, a huge collapse in the Liberal vote, but in line with a poll conducted in Clegg's constituency which suggested that Labour were within the margin of error to take the seat.

Interesting that Labour 'lost' even more votes than the LibDems...
It doesn't matter that the number of Labour votes went down. Look at the percentages.
Also interesting to see a Labour gain in Oxford, Barton and Sandhills ward.
Lab 837 (57.1; +14.4)
LD Gavin Bayliss 334 (22.8; -5.3)
Green 119 (8.1; +1.6)
Con 86 (5.9; -16.9)
UKIP 48 (3.3; +3.3)
Ind 42 (2.9; +2.9)
Majority 503
Turnout 27.5%
Lab gain from LD
Percentage change is since May 2010.
