'Copenhagen & Where we go Now'

Hello,

The panel debate on 'Copenhagen & Where we go Now' is tomorrow (Thurs 11th Feb) at 6pm in the Monroe Fox Lecture Theatre, Royal Holloway College, Egham
(round the side of the Bourne building, it is easy to miss!). There will be snacks and refreshments after the talk! Do invite your friends and colleagues!

An important panel discussion on the Copenhagen Climate conference in December 2009, and how we can move forward in tackling environmental degradation and climate change.

Followed by a Question and Answer session.

Speakers:- Professor David Simon, Head of the Geography Dept. Attended the climate talks as a consultant to UN Habitat and part of their delegation. -

Dr. Simon Blockey, Lecturer in Physical Geography. He researches in tephrochronology, age modelling, past climate reconstruction and human climate interactions. He is chair of the Royal Holloway and Oxford Tephrochronology Research Group (RHOXTOR) and is active in a number of research groups. He teaches on human climate interactions and various applications of chronological methods.-

Sacha Ismail, member of the Socialist organisation Workers' Liberty. -

Derek Wall, a green activist, writer and economist. The current Green Party candidate for Windsor. He has been a member of the Green Party since 1980.

He was Green Party Principal Speaker from 2006 to 2007.

Rev Dr Vladimir Nikiforov - RC Chaplain & Visiting Lecturer. -

Omar Galal, Civil Engineer. He shall give an Islamic viewpoint of ecology, and how we can tackle environmental damage.
