Dear Climate campers, could you promote this to any activists who are able to get up to london early before the march - action on biofuels from 1030- 1130. Army outfits and orangutans welcome. Lets ensure Bali isnt Bio-foolish and an International Agreement can overturn the EU decision to pretend that we get a better future by destroying the planet even quicker. You can't offset responsibility for cutting the carbon by cutting down the forests. Best Regards, Jonathan London, Saturday December 8th 2007 Global Day of ActionJoin the National Climate March - see http://campaigncc.org
BEFORE THE MARCH, please join the biofuels demo at 1030 outside the TescoMetro at 17/25 Regent Street (on the corner with Jermyn Street).See map below. Tesco is an investor in Greenergy International and supplies Greenergy biofuels to its customers without explaining that they may be derived from palm oil grown by deforestation. This week's New Scientist reports that palm oil biodiesel from peatlands generates up to over 30 times as muchCO2 as fossil diesel. Biofuelwatch are calling on Tesco to disinvest from Greenergy and cease to supply their fuels. This is part of the Cycle Protest before the national Climate march.
'How to be green? Many people have asked us this important question. It's really very simple and requires no expert knowledge or complex skills. Here's the answer. Consume less. Share more. Enjoy life.' Penny Kemp and Derek Wall
