As part of their day school, 'Ideas for Freedom 2009: Socialists, the
capitalist crisis and the working class', Alliance for Workers Liberty have
invited Rock Around the Blockade to debate with them on the subject, '50 years
since the Cuban revolution: Is Cuba socialist?' Helen Yaffe, author of 'Che
Guevara, The Economics of Revolution', will be speaking on behalf of RATB.

Liberty).

Third in a series of discussion groups based on this important book. This
month, Chapter 3: The Great Debate. This chapter is an examination of debates
over the best way of building a socialist economy, between those who supported
the Soviet-style Auto-Financing system, and those, like Che, who favoured the
Budgetary Finance System.
You don't have to have read the chapter to participate as there will be an
introduction (but of course it helps a lot if you do read it, contact us for
