Low impact holiday/Miriam is free

yes, the beautiful Sarah Farrow, the Wall brothers and I have been on holiday in Broadstairs on the beach and in the great places to eat, researching for my ethical eats column in Red Pepper and yes Karl Marx used to go on the beach here as well.

Had this great news from Miriam Rose, who I am very glad to say is outta jail!

on holiday still, we may go into London or Brighton, depending on whether, none of us can drive so all train stuff.

on to Miriam

Dear Derek nd others at the green party,

Just wanted to drop you a line to say thanks so much for your solidarity and support while i was in prison in Iceland. I am now free after 8 days in a male prison for demonstrating, a complete first in Iceand where women are not usually imprisoned even for serious crimes without at least one pardon (there are only 6 women currently in prison in Iceland). Now my friend Haukur Hilmarsson has also had to go to jail for the same reasons for 18days. Again, this is absolute politically motivated harrasment of activists, in an attempt to scare us from coming back and fighting against international crimes against nature and human rights perpetrated by these companies (Alcan-RioTinto, ALCOA etc..).

Anyway, it was wonderful to hear that you had taken an interest and brought the issue to the UK media. Thankyou so much. It was fabuous to have Chris Keane with us this summer and i hope we can support each other further in the future.

All the best and good wishes with green party campaigns.

I am with you all the way..
Miriam Rose xxxxx
