This is an update from Green Party deputy-leader Adrian Ramsay:

Crucial Leicester by-election - final call for help!
Leicester Green Party needs more help, particularly with canvassing, in the last few days of the campaign for a local council by-election on Thursday (15th July). The by-election is being held following the tragic death of Green Councillor Phil Gordon. We need to win the by-election to maintain our presence on Leicester City Council, but it is expected to be close between Labour and the Green Party. If you can help between now and Thursday please contact Bob Ball 0116 221 3224 bob_ball@ntlworld.com or Indira Nath: indirajr@cooptel.net . Accommodation provided if staying over.

Green Party Deputy Leader Adrian Ramsay said: "Leicester Greens have made a real difference on the City Council. It's really important that we maintain our presence there, but with Labour working the ward hard it could be close. Our impressive by-election leaflets make clear the achievements of the Green Councillors but Leicester Greens need more help with canvassing in the last few days to give us a good chance of winning."
